Tanicha Toro-Oloto is a Kent/London based filmmaker whose work focuses on identity and belonging. Her short graduate documentary Under the Blanket won two Royal Television Society student awards for best undergraduate factual, regionally and nationally.

In 2024, Tanicha was selected for Sheffield DocFest’s Filmmaker Challenge, where she created a micro short KEMI about a poet who uses spirituality and writing as tools for healing – all shot within a day.

Tanicha has also worked in the development team of Hillary and Chelsea Clinton’s production company HiddenLight cutting character tapes and working on stories for streamers. She currently works for media charity Heard as a researcher in the climate programme working with broadcasters including: sky and channel 5 to weave in sustainability in surprising places.
